Video! Male pups in Chica x Trooper litter




Here is a little video at just past 5 1/2 weeks of the 7 male pups in our current litter, from Chica and Trooper. There are two orange beltons, one orange patch and ticked pup, two tri-colors, and two black patch and ticked pups.

Maureen, we'll try to get some pictures of those female pups for you to see before Wayne is here next weekend. The expression Belton in English Setters describes a dog that has tick marks without patches. It's my understanding that the expression is derived from Belton England where the local dogs were predominantly marked in that manner. In the northeast states and particularly years ago grouse hunters tended to favor the Belton marked dogs. The AKC show dog circuit certainly favors belton's over patch marked dogs. It always seemed to me that bird hunters in the western great Lakes states favored patch marked setters. It's an aesthetic preference which is part of the fun. Fortunately the dogs don't know and…

Orange belton and orange patch, and tickled??? Tickled is like freckled? Patch is larger color on fur, but never heard of Belton. We have an orange and white dog now. We had a black and white beautiful setter with all shapes and sizes of black. We got one of our setters from you, but l wasn't ready to replace lrene or a puppy that looks like her. Do the 2 female orange puppies also have any black on them? My husband Wayne Tart will be driving up in a week or so to get our new puppy. Is it possible to show pictures of those 2 puppies.
